ITI stands for Industrial Training Institute, the network of vocational training schools in India that certify practical trades such as electrician, fitter, machinist and instrument mechanic. ITI trades are one of the most direct routes into technician-level jobs in the Dholera industrial ecosystem.

What an ITI is

An Industrial Training Institute, or ITI, is a vocational school offering trade-focused training after school, typically over one to two years, leading to a National Trade Certificate. ITIs run both government and private, and they teach hands-on trades rather than academic degrees: electrician, fitter, machinist, welder, turner, instrument mechanic, electronics mechanic and many others. The emphasis is on practical skill and workshop time, so graduates are ready to do a specific job on a shop floor or a plant, often followed by an apprenticeship.

Why ITIs matter for Dholera work

A modern industrial city needs far more skilled technicians than engineers, and ITI trades are a direct, affordable route into those roles. For the semiconductor fab, the solar plants, the data centre and the ancillary units building in Dholera, ITI-certified electricians, instrument mechanics, machinists and similar trades feed maintenance, facilities, utilities and operator jobs.
